South Valley fields multiple teams in every age group. Tryouts here aren't a single door that opens or closes — they place your player on the team where they'll develop fastest, with a path upward inside the club.

Questions
Tryout FAQ
- Players of all experience levels are welcome to try out. While our competitive teams require a baseline of skill, we evaluate each player individually and place them on the team that best fits their development stage — with multiple teams per age group, there's a place for every committed player.
- Players should bring cleats, shin guards, a water bottle, and wear comfortable athletic clothes. A soccer ball is recommended but not required. Make sure to complete pre-registration before arriving.
- Our coaching staff evaluates players on technical ability, tactical understanding, athleticism, coachability, and team mentality. We look for players who fit the South Valley Surf culture — competitive, disciplined, and growth-oriented.
- Tryouts at South Valley Surf are free of charge. We believe every player deserves a fair opportunity to show what they can do. Please contact our registrar Dana Hamilton at (661) 599-1108 for any questions about registration.
- Our teams compete in the Girls Academy League, National 1 League, and Coast Soccer League depending on age group and gender. Our programs offer some of the most competitive environments available to youth players in Central California.
